Ben Ross Hall, age 93, passed away on June 6, 2024, at Heritage Home Assisted Living in Preston, ID. Ross was born in Preston, Idaho, on December 7, 1930, to parents William Carl Hall and Pearl Hansine Jensen. He lived in Preston his entire life and was raised on the family farm on the river bottoms. He found the love of his life and married BarDee Spackman on June 8, 1949. They had six wonderful children. BarDee passed away on September 8, 2019. He missed her dearly and talked to her all the time.
Ross loved farming and raising cattle. That was his passion and purpose in life. If you wanted to be his best friend, all you had to do was talk cattle or farming with him. He worked many years as a supervisor for Bannock Paving in Pocatello, ID. Then, after retiring from Bannock Paving Co., he started his own paving company, River Valley Paving, in Preston. He was a very hard worker and instilled that trait in all his children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, all his siblings, two daughters (Peggy Ann Hall Cooper, Cristy Jean Hall Geddes), two sons-in-law, one grandson, and one granddaughter.
He is survived by his sons and daughter: Kenton (Linda) Hall, Wallowa, OR; Shanna (Dennis) Neeley, Preston, ID; Troy (Chell) Hall, Boise, ID; and Jody Lynn Hall, Preston, ID. He has sixteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The family wants to sincerely thank the caretakers at Heritage Home for the loving care they gave our father and also for the compassionate and loving hospice care given to him by the exceptional staff at Symbii Home Health and Hospice.
