Blaine Sparrow, age 82, of Preston, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15th, surrounded by his loving family. He is at peace, reunited with the loved ones who went before him—his wife, brother, sister, and parents.
Born on May 11th, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, Blaine lived a life marked by laughter, hard work, generosity, and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, always putting family first and offering unwavering love and support to those around him.
Blaine proudly spent many years as a dedicated truck driver, logging countless miles with grit and quiet determination. When he wasn’t working, he found joy in the outdoors—especially hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling—or tinkering and building in his garage, where there was always a project in progress (and probably a tool or two misplaced).
Though known for his no-nonsense attitude and the occasional well-timed grumble, those who knew Blaine best understood it was part of his charm. Beneath that gruff exterior was a loyal, loving man with a soft spot for his family and a heart that ran deep.
He is survived by his two sons, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a large circle of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st at Red Rose Funeral Home, 56 S state Street, Preston, ID, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 11: 00 am on Tuesday, April 22nd at Washington Heights Memorial Park 4500 S Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84403. All who knew and loved Blaine are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you spend some time with your loved ones—cherish each moment, as time is the most precious gift.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and stories that will be retold with smiles for years to come.
