Brice Lamar Gilbert, 81, of Lewiston, Utah, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019, in Logan, Utah. He was born on November 28, 1937, to Melvin Charles and Dorothy Hall Gilbert of Lewiston. He is the youngest of three children. He attended school in Lewiston and Richmond and attained his high school degree.

Brice joined the United States Air Force in 1957, serving four years, during which time he traveled to Greenland as part of his training.

On June 1st, 1960, he married Sharon Gail Urie from Franklin, Idaho, and together they raised five children: Cherry (Blayne) Nielsen; Tonya McAllister; Tony Gilbert; Kristina (Marty) Murphy; and Danny Gilbert. They have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Brice enjoyed working at the Lewiston Amalgamated Sugar Company for 12 years. After the plant closed in 1972, he obtained his CDL and briefly worked for Dale Peterson as a milk truck driver before becoming associated with FFE company in Salt Lake City where he worked as an independent owner-operator of four different Peterbilt semi-trucks over a period of 34 years. He was awarded with two million plus miles of accident-free driving during his career.

A great fan of traveling and of all things related to the U.S. military, Brice has traveled to many places throughout the U.S.A. as well as Germany, Switzerland, and France, where he enjoyed touring historical and patriotic sites as well as other popular tourist attractions.

Brice is survived by his wife, four children, one brother, Ray Gilbert, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Brice is preceded in death by his parents: a sister, Karla Cottrell; a daughter, Tonya McAllister; and his first grandson, Bryan Reeder.

Friends may call between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30th, at the Lewiston 3rd Ward church at 16 South Main Street. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. with Anthony Hall presiding, followed by military rites and burial at the Lewiston City Cemetery.
