Edna DeAnne Thompson

Edna DeAnne Metcalf Albright Thompson, 81, of Franklin, Idaho peacefully passed away on July 7, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family. Her death was due to esophageal cancer.

Since the death of her husband, Talmage “Tal” Andrew Thompson in 2015 she has lived independently in her own home, a home she loved.

She was born on September 5, 1942 during World War II in Logan, Utah. Her family rejoiced in her birth and she was so loved throughout her life. 

She preferred to be called by DeAnne. Deanne was the daughter of Marvin Earl Metcalf and Eva Bodily. She married Warren LaMont Albright on June 10, 1960 and had three wonderful children. They divorced in 1978 and Deanne continued to raise her children while she worked in accounts payable for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a kind, generous, faithful woman who love to laugh with her family. She found joy in life serving in her many church callings. She also loved quilting, sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, bobbin lace, tatting, oil painting, ceramics, and making gingerbread houses.

In her life she moved many times. She was born in Logan, Utah then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Once married to Warren, they lived in North Carolina, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, Alaska, California, then back to Idaho again. While she was married to Tal, they lived in both Utah and Idaho.

DeAnne is survived by her sisters: Trina Webb (Harold), Marlene Armstrong (Lute), and Peggy Jensen (Jim), two children: Nancy DeAnne Stuart (Ron), and Lincoln Gregory Albright, seven grandchildren: Tiffany DeAnne Cutler, Christy Marie Terrill Reid (Tyler), Robert Arthur Terrill, Trevor Michael Terrill, Rachel Albright, Amanda Jane Lueck (Cody), and Tyler Scott Albright, and seven great-grandchildren: Jane DeAnne Knoff, Quinn Arthur Terrill, Levi Ethan Reid, Andrew Albright, Ruby Delilah Reid, Clark Russell Reid, Ethan Kenneth Terrill, and Declan Hugh Reid.

Her husband Talmage, son Scott Warren Albright, brother Bart Earl Metcalf, sisters Glenna Metcalf, and Eva Andrea Metcalf and her parents preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10 AM at Franklin cemetery located at 5400 South Road, Preston, Idaho.
