Gloria Amparo Noriega, “Marecita” of River Heights, passed away at the age of 80 on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Wellsville, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 15, 1944, in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala, the daughter of Petronilo Noriega Urizar and Emilia Otilia Garcia. She had six sisters and five brothers. She has resided in both Guatemala and the United States.
In her younger years, she was very good at playing basketball. She always found a way to joke around, even in the most serious of times. She also loved dancing, cooking, swimming, and picnicking. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
For most of her life, she worked as a tailor seamstress, making beautiful clothing. She worked very hard most of her life to provide for her five children.
She is survived by her children, Mayra Mejia, Ronald Mejia, Marisol Mejia, Jaquelin Mejia, and Eddie Noriega. Seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive her.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Temple Blvd: 1st Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 302 N 500 E Logan, UT. Burial will follow in the Wellsville City Cemetery.
