It is with an impossible sadness that we announce the loss of Jeffery ("Oly") Lamont Olsen, who unexpectedly passed away at his home on Thursday, February 7, 2019, leaving behind the family that he coveted and the thousands of friends he made during his incredible life journey. it would take volumes of pages to explain the special person that Jeff was and the meaning Jeff held for so many. His life was that of unbound generosity, devotion, infectious laughter, and true interest in friendship with the countless people fortunate to cross his path. None knows better than the centerpiece of his life, his loving family and friends.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Max LaMonte Olsen and Carol Hawkes Olsen, His sister Dani Olsen Dunn, and his brother Tracy Olsen.

Jeff is also survived and lovingly remembered by his daughters, Cortney Swan, Cassidy Reynolds, and Charity Fluckiger, as well as his many grandchildren, Kaya Swan, Chloe Swan, Brooklyn Simonton, Baylee Reynolds, Gage Reynolds, Presley Fluckiger, Nixon Fluckiger, and his dog and best friend, Buddy.

Jeff was loved and cherished by all who knew him; he was the type of man who could make a friend for life in a five-minute conversation. He was infamous for giving nicknames to his loved ones, whether you liked it or not. He was a gifted storyteller, the funniest man at every event, and the life of every party.

Jeff served an LDS mission in Melbourne, Australia, and loved and treasured the many friends he made there and throughout the world.

Jeff was an avid and expert hunter, fisherman, and, ironically, a lover of all animals. But the thing he loved and cherished most in life was his daughters, sons-in-laws, and grandchildren Because, like he would always say, "you don't get Shetland ponies out of racehorses."

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 12:00 PM at the Franklin LDS Church located at 112 E. Main Street, Franklin, Idaho.

Funeral services are under the direction of Franklin County Funeral Home, Preston, Idaho.
