Judith Sue Porch

August 21, 1944 — October 27, 2024

Rupert, ID

Judith Sue Porch, a devoted mother, compassionate friend, and beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, at an Idaho Falls care center. As her health began to fail, she chose to relocate there to be closer to her son, Corey Porch, who resides in Idaho Falls.

Born on August 21, 1944, in Ogden, Utah,  Judith spent most of her life dedicated to her passion for public service and community involvement. A political consultant by trade, she served as the Republican precinct chairman for nearly 30 years, tirelessly championing local elections and advocating for the community. Judith's commitment extended beyond politics; she also contributed her talents to the Minidoka County Planning and Zoning Commission for several years. Her tireless efforts earned her a place in the hearts of many, as she was known for spearheading campaigns and supporting various officials running for public office.

Judith was a proud member of the Jaycettes and the Rupert Rotary Club, where she made history as the first female Rotarian in the Rupert Lodge. Fondly nicknamed “Aunt Bee” by her fellow club members, she exemplified the values of service above self, culminating in her being awarded the Paul Harris Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Rotary Club. Throughout her life, Judith found fulfillment in serving others, demonstrating her dedication through active participation in her church and community events.

She also held a deep love for music, skillfully playing the piano for numerous civic organizations and church services. Judith took great joy in being a part of life’s milestones, whether attending weddings or funerals, always ready to lend her musical talents to comforting those around her. She had a special place in her heart for teaching, particularly Sunday School, where she cherished sharing her knowledge with 5th and 6th graders.

Judith married Steve Porch on June 18, 1967. Together, they had one son, Corey. Although Judith had a small biological family, consisting of her husband, child, and stepsister, Rita Newell, who resides in San Diego, CA, she cherished the memory of her late husband, who passed away in 2003. Throughout her life, Judith created a vast chosen family. Many who experienced her warmth, kindness, and guidance became as dear to her as biological relatives.

Judith's faith was the cornerstone of her spirit; she was a deeply spiritual person who prayed daily for herself and a list of family and friends whom she felt needed extra support. Her compassionate nature made her a true pillar of strength many turned to during trying times.

Judith's remarkable legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched through her unwavering kindness and community dedication. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory with a visitation scheduled for November 8, 2024, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Rupert, ID, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a graveside service at Minidoka Acequia Rupert Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Judith Sue Porch leaves behind a legacy of love and service, reminding us that the importance of family—both biological and chosen—shapes our lives in meaningful ways. She will be profoundly missed, yet her influence will resonate for generations.
