Karen Margaret Cordary, 73, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Heritage House, Preston, Idaho. She had been in their care for the last five years.
Karen was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 2, 1951. Her family moved to Oneida, New York, when she was four. She graduated from Oneida Senior High School in 1969 and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after. She served eight years and was honorably discharged. Karen spent some time working in "civilian" life and then enlisted in the Army National Guard, after which she retired after 22 years of service. After 9/11, she was recalled and served in Kuwait and then as a defense contractor in Iraq and Dubai.
Surviving are her daughter Jennifer Liberty, Preston, ID, and a son Jason Horton, Traverse City, MI. four grandchildren, Casey Twiss, Lauryn Williams, Kenzie Liberty, and Austin Liberty; four great-grandchildren Sutton Twiss, Lucas Liberty, Onyx Williams, and Keenan Greene. Karen is also survived by her mother, Mary Cordary, and siblings, Patricia Wicks, Alan Cordary, Kelly Twiss, and Robin Vandenburg. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cordary.
Cremation services are being arranged by the Red Rose Funeral Home of Preston, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's name to the Save The Children Foundation.
