Obituary:

Kurt Torfin, beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend, passed on May 16, 2024, in Preston, Idaho. He was born on August 19, 1957, in Seattle, Washington, to Milton & Sallee Torfin.

Kurt was known for his fulfilling career as a Permit Agent for various oil & gas companies. His expertise and dedication in this field left a lasting impact on those he worked with. Beyond his professional life, Kurt's true joy came from spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies.

He had a passion for carpentry work and could often be found working on his house. Kurt's warm and friendly personality made him a magnet for friendships. He possessed the remarkable ability to strike up conversations with anyone he met. He was very generous and always willing to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to building projects.

Among his cherished memories are the times spent playing with his granddaughters in the yard, pushing them on swings as they giggled with delight. Road trips at the break of dawn held a special place in his heart, relishing the open road ahead.

Kurt leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be carried on by those who survive him. He is survived by his loving daughter Shelby George and her husband Brian George; granddaughters Remi George and Brynlee George; as well as his brothers Clay Torfin and Casey Torfin with wife Glenda Torfin; sister Kristi Hall and husband Brett Hall; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Milton Torfin; his mother Sallee Keller and stepfather, Vernon Keller.

Today, we mourn Kurt Torfin's death but also celebrate his beautiful life and the everlasting impact he had on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory inspire us to be kind, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Rest in peace, Kurt.
