A graduate of West Side High School in 1966, Marna held various jobs throughout her life, demonstrating unwavering dedication in each role. In the 1970s, she began her career at Schreiber Foods in Logan, where she not only honed her work ethic but also forged a lasting friendship with Darlene Byington. In 1980, Marna relocated to the Idaho area, where she continued her career at an onion plant in Nampa, further forming another lifelong friendship with Alice. Later, her compassionate nature led her to work at an assisted living home in Nyssa, Oregon, where she found joy in helping the residents.
Marna's sunny disposition and charming personality drew people into her life. She had a remarkable talent for making lifelong friends, including Netta Jacobson, Edna Brenton, Alice Gutierrez, Janet Henderson, and many more. Known for her brash sense of humor, she instilled this joyful spirit in her son, Vern Hunt (Jr).
Family meant everything to Marna. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Despite health challenges that prevented her from making it home in previous years, she made a special effort to return to her family for Christmas this past year, a testament to the love and commitment she felt for those closest to her.
She enjoyed fly fishing, Marna even tied her own flies and spent leisurely hours outdoors. She also had a passion for board and card games, delighting in playing canasta with her friend Darlene and pinochle with her son, mother, and friends Edna and Eric. Her culinary skills were exceptional, marked by her sweet tooth, which inspired her to bake delicious treats, especially during the festive holidays.
Mom had a special place in her heart for her pets, which included Murphy, Frisky, Chester, Fred, Bubba, and Rigby. She enjoyed buying ice cream cones and burger patties at the drive-up for Murphy and Chester.
