Maxine Lillie McDonald

June 13, 1937 — October 8, 2024

Paradise, UT

Maxine Lillie McDonald, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 8th. Born on June 13, 1937, in Midway, Utah, Maxine was the embodiment of strength and determination, known for her love of the outdoors and adventure from a young age. She spent her childhood riding horses and climbing trees, cultivating a love for nature that would last a lifetime.

Maxine married Roy C. McDonald on May 18, 1956, and together they shared a beautiful journey. While Roy pursued his degree in wildlife management at Utah State University, Maxine worked at a sewing plant in Logan, Utah, helping to support their growing family. They were blessed with two sons, Scott and Lynn, who would carry on the adventurous spirit instilled by their parents.

Maxine and Roy’s life together took them to many places, including Denver and Montrose, Colorado, Oregon, Annabelle, Utah, and finally, retirement in Paradise, Utah. Maxine also worked for the Cache County School District as a special-needs school bus attendant, a role she held close to her heart. She took great joy in watching the children grow and thrive, and her nurturing nature left a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Her greatest pride was her family. Maxine was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She held her family to the highest standard and wasn’t afraid to offer advice or a reminder when it was needed. Her honesty, strength, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Maxine leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and an adventurous spirit that will continue to inspire her family and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her ability to speak her mind with kindness and grace.

Maxine’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Aegis Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care and attention during her final days. A special thanks is given to her nurse, Ashley, whom Maxine loved beyond measure. Thank you, Ashley, for your unwavering love and care for our mother and grandmother during this time.
