Victor “Kent” Dunkley, of Franklin, Idaho, born on February 18, 1955, passed away peacefully from the effects of cancer on Monday, May 13, 2024, in Preston, Idaho.
Kent was a lifelong and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and he loved serving the Lord in many callings throughout his life. He could often be seen cleaning the church building and planting flowers at the relic hall. He was also an active member of the Lions Club and the Idaho Pioneer Association and volunteered at the Franklin Cemetery.
Kent graduated with honors from Preston High School and went on to Utah State University to receive both a BS in business and later an MBA. He put his education to work at the family mink ranch in Franklin and for the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, Utah. When not working, Kent spent his time painting, building fountains, gardening, and generally keeping the family home in Franklin beautiful.
Kent was well known in the community for his love of cars and, for years, enjoyed driving local pageant royalty in parades in his big white Pontiac convertible.
Kent is survived by his sisters Dixie Dunkley Hunsaker and Pamela Gustman as well as his nieces and nephew, Carla Arrigona, Holly Klossner, Rob Hunsaker, Lezlee Shaughnessy and Lori Medina.
